EIT Digital, one of the leading European technology and educational organizations, is partnering with the University of California at Berkeley to launch an EU-US cybersecurity training program. The program will feature experts from Europe and the US and will focus on cybersecurity for industrial applications and software platforms.
Titled the Cybersecurity 360 Program for Professionals, the training program consists of a two-week face-to-face training for industry leaders. The EIT Digital School will be in charge of delivering the industrial applications part of the program, which will focus on protecting networks and connected hardware. The University of California at Berkeley will focus on cybersecurity for software platforms, including online and cloud services.
According to EIT Digital, participants will learn about the different kinds of cyberattacks and the risks they pose to organizations. In addition, experts will also spend time talking about fundamental cybersecurity principles and their application to key technical systems in order to manage security challenges and data privacy.
In a publication announcing the program, EIT Digital stated that technology benefits and threats can easily spread across borders. The organization added that cybersecurity was a worldwide issue that needed to be addressed on a global scale.
“The collaboration between EIT Digital and UC Berkeley Executive Education couldn´t be timelier, as organizations increasingly discover the price of online carelessness,” EIT Digital said. “Cyber threats are widespread and failure to prepare can lead to disastrous consequences.”
The program will be split into two modules. The first module will take place from Oct. 1-5 in Berkeley, California, while the second module will take place from Oct. 15 – 19 in Munich, Germany. Participants can register for one or both weeks.
