The PANACEAresearch project will host a free webinar on people-based, innovative cybersecurity models for the healthcare sector on April 18. In addition, the webinar will present the overall objective of the PANACEAresearch project: the development of a holistic cybersecurity toolkit for healthcare institutions with a combination of technical and non-technical elements.
According to PANACEAresearch, the healthcare sector is one of the most attractive cybercrime targets for two fundamental reasons: it is a rich source of valuable data and it has poor defense mechanisms. Cybersecurity breaches that affect this sector can have severe consequences, including the loss of patient trust, weakened health systems and threats to human life.
Healthcare is one of AEGIS´ focus domains for EU-US cooperation in cybersecurity and privacy R&I. AEGIS is therefore determined to highlight ways in which EU and US stakeholders on work together and more effectively on healthcare cybersecurity.
The webinar will present the PANACEAresearch project, provide an overview of innovative solutions in healthcare and discuss user engagement and requirements for healthcare cybersecurity. A brief overview of the schedule and the speakers is included below.
