The Delegation of the European Union to the U.S. and the Brookings Institution are organizing the EU Defense Washington Forum from July 8-9. The online event will convene leaders, policy makers, and experts in the fields of security and defense from both regions to discuss the key security concerns facing the transatlantic community.
In particular, the forum will analyze the effect of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic on security operations and priorities. The crisis has upended governments worldwide, affecting national budgets and impacting multinational training exercises. It is also forcing security officials to face the new normal and learn how to deal with the challenges that come with it.
Besides covering the important questions raised by the pandemic, the forum will also focus on other topics, including 5G, AI, and EU-US-NATO cooperation, among others.
A full schedule and list of speakers will be published shortly. People interested in participating can register for the event here.
