NGI Explorers is offering full grants to EU cybersecurity researchers interested in travelling to the US to accelerate their projects and learn from American experts in the field. The program is part of the European Commission´s Next Generation Internet initiative, which aims to foster an Internet of the future that embodies European values.
The program, which is accepting applications until July 31, will fund three or six month expeditions for researchers in the US, where they will be placed at top US research institutions. NGI Explorers provides cybersecurity researchers with a unique opportunity to connect with the foremost experts in the US. This learning experience will allow EU researchers to become the drivers of the Next Generation Internet.
Researchers selected for an NGI Explorers grant will receive a mentor that will support them during their trip to the US. Additionally, NGI Explorers will also offer promising projects in the program access to public and private funding schemes to propel their business development.
The best projects of each NGI Explorers class will be publicly recognized at a competition and awards ceremony at the end of the program.
In addition to cybersecurity, researchers focused on one or more of the following areas may also apply for a technology expedition grant: Artificial Intelligence; Blockchain; Big Data; Internet of Things; 5G; Cloud and Edge Computing; Interactive Technology; Future Hyper-connectivity; and Human-centric Internet.
