SPARTA project publishes first year results and hosts brokerage event

The SPARTA project, part of the European Union’s Cybersecurity Competence Network, has published its first year results in the field of cybersecurity research and innovation (R&I). CYBERSECURITY AND PRIVACY
RESEARCH AND INNOVATION

AEGIS addresses one of the critical challenges of our era: the developing cybersecurity and privacy landscape. The project strengthens international dialogues on cybersecurity and privacy in order to facilitate the exchange of viewpoints, policies and best practices to accelerate EU-US cooperation in cybersecurity and privacy research and innovation.

WHAT IS THE AEGIS PROJECT?

AEGIS is a Horizon 2020 project focusing on EU-US cybersecurity and privacy dialogue.

AEGIS provides support to EU-US ongoing dialogues and discussions related to cybersecurity and privacy by providing a practical and effective international collaboration platform engaged in: (a) discussing progress and priorities; (b) setting the cybersecurity and privacy research agendas to be pursued at an international level; and (c) coordinating the sharing of policies and best practices, standards, test facilities, knowledge and experience in order to stimulate cooperation around cybersecurity and privacy research and innovation approaches and thus contribute in shaping the future global cybersecurity landscape.

European Cyber Security Organisation WG 2 and WG 6

The European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) is the European Commission´s industry counterpart for the implementation of the cybersecurity contractual Public-Private Partnership (cPPP). ECSO Working Group 2: Market deployment, investments and international collaboration and Working Group 6: SRIA and cybersecurity technologies are working on EU-US cooperation.

European Cybersecurity Competence Network 

The European Cybersecurity Network and Competence Center aims to retain and develop the cybersecurity technological and industrial capacities necessary to secure the EU Digital Single Market and strengthen and sustain Europe’s cybersecurity competence. The initiative works to place Europe in a leading position in the cybersecurity marketplace.

Cyberwatching.eu

Cyberwatching.eu is the European cybersecurity and privacy research and innovation observatory. It contributes to making the Digital Single Market a safer place by promoting the uptake and understanding of cybersecurity and privacy services developed by European R&I initiatives. Cyberwatching.eu features a project hub for innovative and trustworthy ICT products, services and software.

JOIN THE AEGIS CYBERSECURITY REFLECTION GROUP EU-US

The Reflection Group is a multi-stakeholder collaboration platform to facilitate interaction, debate and the exchange of views between relevant EU and US cybersecurity and privacy stakeholders.

Cybersecurity Research and Innovation Working Group

 The Cybersecurity and Privacy R&I Working Group focuses on research and innovation issues that affect both the EU and the US. It aims to foster dialogue among experts on both sides of the Atlantic on sector issues, such as research domains, applications and priority sectors.

Cybersecurity Policies Working Group

The Cybersecurity and Privacy Policies Working Group is a results-oriented transatlantic partnership that analyzes policy related topics within the cybersecurity and privacy sector that affect the EU and the US and require international cooperation.

The project has:

  • Identified critical R&I priorities of high common interest for EU-US cooperation in cybersecurity and privacy.
  • Strengthened the innovation dimension of international cooperation to the maximum extent possible.
  • Increased international visibility for EU and US activities in cybersecurity.
  • Identified potential European and international common approaches to address cybersecurity challenges.
